It started in a classroom back in 2015. We were teaching two-way radio communication — practical skills for real people who wanted to stay connected. After each class, students asked where they could buy reliable gear. We didn’t want to send them to faceless marketplaces full of knockoffs and counterfeits, so we decided to do something about it. That’s how Paratus Radio was born — built on trust, quality, and community.

As our classes grew, so did our conversations. By 2018, people weren’t just talking about radios anymore; they were talking about privacy. They noticed phones listening when they shouldn’t, ads appearing after private conversations, or messages feeling a little too targeted. We listened — and in response, we started creating new courses, writing clear documentation, and offering practical tools for privacy and security.

Over the years, those small steps turned into something bigger. By 2025, it was clear that privacy wasn’t a niche concern anymore — it was a need for everyone. That’s when we launched Affordable Privacy Phones, a dedicated branch focused on helping everyday people take control of their digital lives.
